Welcome to my journey.

Let me start by saying hello. I don't expect there to be many of you out there but I do hope to at least reach a few hearts in need.

This is a personal journey for me. It's my journey to see myself the way that God sees me and to be the woman God has called me to be.

Now here is where I get transparent. If transparency makes you uncomfortable then go ahead and move along. To see any fruit on this journey I will have to be transparent. You have been warned. I've been struggling off and on for years with depression. I'm currently trying to pull myself out of a rough bout of postpartum depression. Many days I struggle just to find the energy to perform basic daily tasks. This year I'm adamant to move forward. Most of this journey will be taken in baby steps. There might be set backs and I'm sure I'll drop the ball at least once. Depression is serious and while I know I can make changes to improve my quality of life, I have to remain realistic. My changes may not be enough and I may have to seek professional help. I will chronicle that here also if it comes to that.

My goal with this blog is to post every Sunday about the progress I made the previous week.  That means fifty-two posts (because this one doesn't count, this is simply an introduction).

My posts will be about the following goals...
  •  Spiritual Growth
    • Reading my Bible daily
    • Spending time in prayer every daily
    • Reading a devotional daily
    • Completing a thirty day prayer for my husband challenge
  • Health/Fitness
    • Taking my vitamins/probiotic daily
    • Doing exercises to heal my diastisis recti daily
    • Exercising six times a week
    • Eating breakfast every day
  • Home Management
    • Completing a thirty day minimalism challenge
    • Doing at least one chore each day
    • Keeping track of everything in a planner and/or calendar
    • To complete the weekly savings plan
  • Mental Health
    • Logging a gratitude entry daily
    • Taking at least ten minutes for myself daily
    • Reaching out for help when necessary
    • Taking a time out when necessary
  • Parenting
    • Putting an end to my screaming
    • Being consistent with timeout
    • Snuggling with each child at least five minutes a day
    • Reading at least one book to them daily
Overall they may seem simple but that is the point. They are things I have struggled with over the past few months and things I need to improve to move forward and take hold of the promises of God. First and foremost I want this to bring me closer to God. If at any point I feel God leading me to focus on one area more than others or to change my goals then I will do my best to be obedient. I'm as ready as I'm going to be and I'm actually excited to see how this year unfolds.
